Matt Hendricks is a retired professional hockey player who spent 16 years in the NHL. Matt speaks about his passion for the outdoors and how that begun at a young age, his lesser known dream of becoming a biologist, his adventures archery hunting, finding fishing locations away from home and how finding time to spend outdoors made him a better hockey player and a better teammate.  

Episode 76- Frank Baldwin Spring Canada Goose Season and Wild Turkeys

Frank Baldwin is a wildlife biologist for the Canadian Wildlife Service. His focus is migratory game birds. Previously Frank was employed by the Manitoba provincial government and worked additionally on other game bird species including wild turkeys. Frank discusses the changes in the upcoming spring conservation canada goose season and how the season is created. We also chat about the introduction of wild turkeys into Manitoba and how they have been managed for success.

As an explorer he has lead many high profile expeditions from archeological digs to photography missions, he has mapped rivers in northern Canada and travelled across the Arctic on a 4000 km solo journey by canoe. Adam has also written numerous books and filmed a documentary about his solo journey across the Arctic.
