They target salmon along the entire Pacific North West coast from Alaska down to Vancouver Island, and venture 100 miles out to sea chasing tuna! Paul McCarney has a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies. He researched social and ecological dimensions of wildlife research and management in the Arctic. Paul has a respectable resume of experience, not only in the academic world but also the outdoor world. Although Paul's journey didn't lead him into hunting until his adult years, it has become a central focus of many conversations in his life. On this episode we dive into discussions about defining trophy hunting, leading a productive dialogue while finding common ground in the conservation world and much more.

Dave Salmoni is known for his film work on big cats and conservation. His work can be found almost anywhere but his main platforms are Animal Planet and Discovery. On this episode Dave focuses on how all conservationists, hunters and non-hunters, can still find a way to work together for a common goal, as well as how cancel culture is bad for conservation, an honest look into trophy hunting in Africa, and what conservation methods look like in Africa. We also learn about Dave's interesting journey into the big cat world and what his thoughts are on the increased cougar sightings in Manitoba.

Previously Frank was employed by the Manitoba provincial government and worked additionally on other game bird species including wild turkeys. We also chat about the introduction of wild turkeys into Manitoba and how they have been managed for success.
